Michele Schanker Photography bio picture

Welcome to the Michele Schanker Photography Blog!

Who Am I? Simply put I am a photographer, engineer, runner, hiker, skier, and frequent traveler.

Welcome to the Michele Schanker Photography Blog! I am a
photographer relocating from California to Denver, CO!

We focus on Photojournalistic Lifestyle Photography. What does that
mean? It means that I like your photos to look natural. Therefore I photograph
kids and babies at home or in a comfortable setting such as a park I like to take on a modern style which offers unique angles and locations. We do not do any
studio photography, eveything is done on location at a place that most
suits you and/or your family.

I love capturing special moments, emotion, and the interactions of
people. I photograph couples, children, babies, maternity, and weddings.  This blog serves as my online photojournal that
consists of my photoshoots and also a few of my traveling adventures
too.

Michele Schanker Photography is an award winning photographer: 2009 Antelope Valley Fair (Lancaster, CA), Professional Category

Denver Photoshoots!

Hello Denver Folks!

So I’ve been here a month now and am loving the Denver life. This is one fantastic city. I can’t help but notice all these great locations for photoshoots. With that said I am planning on starting up photo shoots on a very limited basis. This is a great time to start planning for those holiday presents and holiday cards. To get things started I am offering the same “sale” session prices that I offered before I left California. Basically the 1 hour photoshoot is only $125! This is regularly $200. This price will be good as long as you book by Sept 1st! So shoot me an email or give me a call to book your date.

BOOM BOOM POW

4th of July in Denver was actually kind of rainy. Luckily there was a fireworks show on the 3rd of July about 3 blocks from where we are living. So off we went with the camera gear to check it out. We were at a great location right off the Cherry Creek Bike Path. I’m loving that we’re living the city life right now. Its so easy to get places and we don’t even have to drive.

The Wonderful Rockies

Well, I made it to Denver! As I may be taking a short break from doing portraits and weddings while we get situated out there. I am still out wandering and taking photos. I can’t fully put the camera down! Last weekend we went hiking at Loveland Pass. Here is some of what I saw on the hike.

Denver Bound!

It is finally official and I am relocating to Denver Colorado next week! I’ve been on a bit of a photography hiatus in Cali while I figured out what was going on and prepared for the move. But next Friday I get in my car and drive to Colorado. I know that may be a bit of a bummer to some Californians and for that I do apologize. For those of you that live in Denver, I will most likely continue my photography hiatus while I get settled in Colorado and to spend some time with my husband since we’ve lived in separate states for the past 7 months. But feel free to contact me and I’ll give you an updated status.

Lancaster in the Spring

This will be my last spring in Lancaster, CA. Spring is one of the only “pretty” times in the desert since all the wildflowers bloom and the desert itself turns kind of green after all the winter rain. Being that my photography skills have improved a lot over the years and I will most likely never see this again, I made myself get up at 6am on a Sunday morning to go a photo safari of the Antelope Valley. If you haven’t got this already, I am moving to Denver, CO VERY SOON!!!! Hopefully before mother nature turns on the furnace and our days start reaching 100+ degrees.

Here are a few of the photos I captured over the weekend.
