Olympics 2006!

In the spirit of the 2010 Winter Olympics, I have decided that my next few blog posts will be to take a look back at the 2006 Torino Olympics! My husband and I love to travel internationally. We spent 2 weeks hoping around Italy and going to the Winter Olympics in Feb of 2006. I do miss being there this year, but hopefully we’ll be in Russia in 2014!

Portrait Sale!

We are announcing the “Hopefully I am Moving Sale”. If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I am trying to relocate to Denver, CO. Well the opportunity may be here. It’s not final and I will know in a couple of weeks. But to give all Californians their last opportunity (hopefully) for a session with Michele Schanker Photography we are introducing an awesome sale! The sale is open to all past and new clients. There are two options.

Option 1
Mini Session – typically about 20 minutes or so. Cost is $50 and will include a $50 print credit. These sessions will only be available in the Antelope Valley. Contact Michele for location ideas.

Option 2
Regular session – 1 to 1.5 hours. Cost is $125 and includes a $125 print credit.

The dates are very limited so act fast.

Derring + Johnathan [The Wedding] – Acton Wedding Photographer

After receiving about 6 days straight of rain in Cali, the following weekend was gorgeous. Just in time for Derring and Johnathan to become husband and wife. It was a cool and mostly sunny day in Acton, CA where there ceremony was being held.

Ceremony: Foursquare Church
Reception: The Plaza Banquet Hall

The wedding was full of happy emotions. Tears of happiness and smiles were flying all over the place. I don’t think you could have found a happier couple! It was a pleasure to get to shoot their wedding. Congrat Derring and John!

On to the photos!

The guys were getting ready is a small room… well small for 8 guys that is. I thought this shot was pretty funny. One of the groomsmen was pretty tall and needed a little help.

Just look how happy they are!

I have been wanting to capture this shot for a long time. I got it!

The toasts at the reception were done very well and lots of happy tears!

Tamilyn + Jeremy

Meet Tamilyn and Jeremy… currently a long distance relationship, and I can actually relate (since I currently live 1000 miles from my husband right now). She lives in Cali, he lives in Alabama!

Such an adorable couple. They laugh a lot, have tons of fun together, and have recently gotten engaged! Congrats to the both of you!

We had an amazing sunset photo session in the hills of Santa Clarita this past Friday. I had such a hard time choosing which ones to blog, but here they are.

Denver Photo Safari

Ughhh…I got sick this week for the third time in four months. I attribute it to all my airplane travel. Essentially when I don’t have weddings or photoshoots booked I travel to Denver to visit my husband. So during the winter months, I guess that means lots of sickness. What fun! As I’m suffering through my latest bout of illness I looked through some photos I took in downtown Denver two weeks ago. Here are some of the ones I picked out to share with everyone.

I am very much looking forward to the day where I travel to Denver for good. Colorado is a dream location for me.
